Reframing the New Normal of Education

Teach Connect is pleased to announce the 2021 edition of Rethinking Education Conference, with the theme: Reframing the New Normal for Education, which will take place on July 16th 2021 from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm at the Solomon Tandeng Muna Foundation Auditorium in Yaounde.
The conference aims at providing a forum for education stakeholders to discuss and explore practical models and approaches schools could adopt in the current Covid, as well as a Post-Covid era that can create conditions for more equitable access to education that prepares young Cameroonians for a fast-evolving society with multifaceted opportunities and complex challenges.
Our audience will include The Minister of Secondary Education, Delegates of Education, School Proprietors, Head teachers, Principals, Teachers, NGOs, bodies with focus on education, parents and people with interest in education.
Three main presentations will be delivered, under the following sub themes.
1. The New Normal for Education, Realities and Implications on Future Generations
Exposing the realities and challenges for teachers and students during the Covid 19 period, together with the needs of advancing trends in education and how these affect educational practices as a whole.
2. Recalibrating Teaching and Learning, a Way Forward for Students’ Active Participation in Society and Competition in the Labour Market
The skills students need to acquire in order to actively participate in society and compete in the labour market as against academic certificates.
3. Innovation of Educational Models to Direct Teaching and Learning to Suit the Needs of Changing Times and Trends in Education
Major changes that the education sector requires to bring about systems and practices that are responsive, reactively and proactively to the world’s demands.
4. A Round table discussion
The plight of young Cameroonians amidst educational challenges and societal demands, where members will be expected to give their view on this theme and the way forward for education in Cameroon
